About

Hi, I'm Kim — and I'm so glad you're here at Mist & Bloom Art Studio!

I live in New York and recently stepped into a new chapter with watercolor. During my recovery from tongue cancer, I needed a way to quiet the fear and anxiety that often surfaced. I started watching watercolor artists create these beautiful, effortless washes of color, and something inside me clicked. After more than 40 years in corporate business, I realized how much of my creativity had gone quiet — and how deeply I missed it.

Cancer was never the path I would have chosen, but it gave me the unexpected gift of slowing down. It reminded me of what truly matters: time with my husband, family, and friends, and the practice of staying grateful every single day. As I healed, I found that creativity wasn’t lost after all — it was simply waiting for space to bloom again.

My work leans toward loose watercolor abstracts with mixed media, often paired with doodling that helps shift the negative narratives we sometimes fall into. Each piece is a small act of joy, resilience, and inner growth — a reflection of art that truly blooms from within.

I’m excited to share this journey with you as I offer my original artwork, each piece made with love and painted on high‑quality, acid‑free paper so it can be enjoyed for a lifetime.
